Static Timing Analysis
Constraints you can trust, multi-corner multi-mode closure, and signoff-quality timing ECOs.
What we deliver
STA is where an implementation programme is either genuinely done or only appears to be. We build and audit the constraint set, close setup and hold across every corner and mode, and generate the physically aware ECOs that get the block signed off — with each exception justified rather than waived.
Scope of work
Constraint development & audit
SDC authoring from the specification, clock and generated clock definition, I/O budgeting, and review of inherited constraints — including finding the over-constraints and false exceptions that hide real violations.
MMMC setup
Corner and mode matrix definition, library and parasitic corner mapping, operating condition and derate strategy, and scenario reduction so runtime stays workable.
Timing closure
Setup and hold closure across all scenarios, path group and bottleneck analysis, and physically aware timing ECOs fed back to the implementation tool and re-verified.
Analysis we run
Variation modelling
OCV, AOCV and POCV derating strategies appropriate to the node, with clock reconvergence pessimism removal.
Signal integrity
Crosstalk delay and noise analysis, glitch checks, and SI-aware closure correlated with the routed parasitics.
Constraint sanity
Unconstrained and partially constrained path detection, clock structure checks, exception validation, and constraint coverage reporting.
Interface & async
I/O timing against the budget, asynchronous crossing timing checks, and hierarchical timing model generation and validation.
Typical deliverables
- Reviewed SDC set with documented exception rationale
- MMMC scenario definition and setup scripts
- Setup and hold timing reports across all corners and modes
- Constraint coverage and sanity-check reports
- SI / noise analysis reports
- Timing ECO files with before-and-after QoR
- Signoff summary and the remaining-risk list
Inherited a constraint set you do not trust?
A constraint audit is usually the cheapest way to find out whether a block is really closed. Ask us about a scoped review.
